A full pancake stack or even just a pancake stack was unknown to me as a teenager. But I discovered in my mum’s cooking book a cake made of pancakes with apple filling . I thought it must be extraordinary, so I asked my mum if she could help me make it. It turned out to be a delightful dessert.
The picture of the recipe was taken from my mum’s book.
What is a full pancake stack
According to Google, a full pancake stack is five pancakes.
The full pancake stack is a classic dish that has stood the test of time. People all over the world appreciate it for its simplicity and mouth-watering taste. It is a versatile dish that can be enjoyed in various ways, whether you indulge in it during a lazy weekend brunch or treat yourself on a special occasion like a birthday or holiday.
In fact, some families even have a tradition of making pancake stacks on weekend mornings. Everyone gathers around the table to savour the warm and fluffy pancakes together. This creates an environment of comfort, warmth, and memories that last a lifetime.
A few months back, my second son visited while I was making pancakes. He asked if I could make him a pancake “cake”, so I made this full pancake stack, and we ate it together.
Interesting fact:
Did you know that the current Guinness World Record for the tallest stack of pancakes is 3 feet and 4 inches tall? James Haywood and Dave Nicholls from the United Kingdom built the stack with 213 pancakes 2016. Just imagine having that kind of stack for brunch 🙂

Topping for your pancake stack
I didn’t include topping for the pancake in the recipe nutrition, but here are a few ideas I love:
- One of my favourites is to put THE BEST CREAMY FROSTING (BUTTER FREE) between the pancake stack layers and on the top of the stack.
- Greek-style white yoghurt is my husband’s favourite topping for protein pancakes. You can spread it between the layers and top it with grated chocolate and some fruit for decoration.
- Whipped double cream is another delicious topping for the full pancake stack.
- You can add some flavour to the cream or yoghurt; I like Stevia salted caramel drops, and my husband likes camp coffee.
- Crunchy low-carb granola with nuts makes the pancake stack even more filling.
- Adding berries is another way to eat pancake stack. We often use frozen berries, which are easily accessible and budget-friendly here in Dubai.
- Of course, you can also pour sugar-free sauces, such as maple syrup, chocolate sauce, and sukrin syrup.
Whether you prefer the classic buttermilk pancake stack or something more adventurous like chocolate chip or blueberry pancakes, the temptation of a well-made full pancake stack is hard to resist. So, are you ready to indulge in this delicious treat?
